Strengthening and enhancing the lives of women and youth in our community and the world.

“Soroptimist” is a coined term which means, “Best for Women.” Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra was chartered on Friday, March 4, 1977. Our club is part of the Sierra Nevada Region, which is one of seven regions under the direction of Soroptimist International of the Americas. The mission statement of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra is to “Strengthen and enhance the lives of women and youth in our community and the world.” With our established mission in mind, we participate in programs at our local level based on the specific needs of our community. In addition, our club is mindful of the need to enhance the lives of women and youth throughout the world.

      The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable service organization. We are non-political. DAR membership is open to any woman age 18 and over regardless of race, religion or ethnic background who can document her direct lineage back to someone who aided in the cause of American freedom from Great Britain.

      This begins our year commitment of helping our members and our community prepare for emergencies of all kinds. Each month we will take one aspect of safety planning so that by the end of the SITS year, our members are more knowledgeable and more organized on keeping their families safe.
